Arika Crotty is a screenwriter and producer of documentary, drama and audio. She produced the Logie-winning Network Ten series Totally Wild and the feature film Space/Time (2025), which reached #3 on Apple TV Australia. Her credits span major Australian networks - Network Ten, ABC, SBS, and Seven - with international distribution on Prime Video, Discovery UK, and National Geographic. She is currently in development on two feature films: a historical drama with BAFTA-winning UK collaborators, on which she is attached as writer, and an Australian–Indonesian drama that she is co-writing and co-producing. In 2024 she received the Brisbane City Council Lord Mayor Creative Fellowship.
She loves smart stories with lush visuals, intellect on display, humour, a preoccupation for industrial or bureaucratic processes, beauty for beauty's sake, films that are very a play, Big dumb moments when films announce themselves. She loves literature as much as films (actually more, sorry), and usually tries to drag one toward the other. Accidentally, or not, her work is always somewhere in conversation with the natural world.
SHE LOVES; Claire Denis' films, a sense of occasion, Ben Lerner's novels, Deadwood, Heat (1995).
